Stickers for my Bikers

From Mi To You fell into a line of work we never saw coming. My love is a motorcycle rider and frequents the race track. Before his first trip he needed a number to put on his bike. Very simple right, when you see racing on TV everyone has a number, well they are no different.

I whip out my Cricut Machine and create him a few stickers. No biggie, well then his friends wanted and needed stickers. Then it turned into names and numbers. We've done a variety of stickers for the motorcycle community. Because they are so near and dear to my heart I couldn't say no.

Here are a few I've done...

In May of this year three of my boyfriend's friends died within three days.
2 died together and the other by himself. In honor of them I made him stickers
with their names. While Scrappy, Herb & Mike are no longer with us in this life;
they get a little ride every time he goes out.  Of the three he was closest to Herb and his
number was #24. You will see a lot of #24 stickers as many riders put them
on their bikes in honor of a fallen friend.

Street Team is the name of their crew #24

#35 is his track number, #24 is in honor of his fallen friend

#24 in honor of Herb

This is a picture of Herb on the Race Track
I made these 24's for him because that was his number of choice.

He was so excited once the stickers were put on his bike.
And they looked really good.

This was Herb's other bike, as you can see I made several yellow #24's for him

Ms. Love (I made those with a new fancy font) and she is also representing #24

Here is a look at the above stickers in the making.

If you click to enlarge the picture you will see the multiple sets of roman numerals in red.
This is my Babe's track bike with Herb #24 in his rearview.

Here is a closer look at the roman numerals on the front of his bike.

I don't create these numbers alone, my Babe is a big part of the process.
Now he can make them start to finish without my help.

Being crafty is contagious, I try to pass it on as much as I can, as often as I can.

Experimental Embellishing

I told yall I had ideas beyond Junk Chuck's. Here are a few other creations; I'm still tweaking these to get them just right. But I am my best tester and if you are going to make something for others it should be something you would totally rock out yourself.

I wanted to take a stab at making a cell phone case.
Not bad for my first try but I still need to do more research.

After I got these funky embellishments I knew I wanted to do a jean jacket.
They are all the rage right now too. This is totally my style.

I rocked my vest while in NYC. I also had on a pair of Junk Chuck's

This was my second try at a cell phone case.
Better but still not there.

Bling Bling!

:bling: to dress or adorn in a flashy way:

A few months ago I posted about embellishing sneakers and since then I've been embellishing up some stuff. I have tons of ideas I want to try but I lack the time to fit them all in. Since my last post I've done at least five pairs of Converse, Chuck Taylor's.  The great thing is everything is a one of a kind piece because I just simply can't do them the same. It's also nice to have something that everyone doesn't have.

I've also been experimenting with other items but I need to make a few more before I'm ready to put it out there for others. From Mi To You is officially taking orders...

Here are a few pictures of some Junk Chuck's I've done.

I added a little splash to the back of her Chuck's.

Normally I like to work on a fresh canvas (new shoes) but this was for my besties daughter.
She already had a pair of Chuck Taylor's so I just spiced them up.

I did these as a birthday gift to an adorable 1 year old girl.

These were done as a birthday gift as well. They were our first official order.
*body roll*

These were for a newborn baby.
They are so teeny tiny.

I made these for my baby girl.

Mommy & Daughter Junk Chuck's

Adult Junk Chuck's, they took a while to do.
Hidden in the mix is a tube of lipstick, a wing, a crown, a skull and a heart with wings.

I ended up switching out the red bow for black.

Diaper Cakes

To date I've only made two diaper cakes but I hope to make more. (I need folks to make some babies.) I've always wanted to try my hand at making a diaper cake but I was clueless. I've seen all kinds (thanks to Google) but only a couple in person. When I saw one for the first time my thought was cute and I can so do that. Well that attitude got me here.

My best friend Keeya was having a baby boy (my godson) and this was the perfect time for me to take a stab at the diaper cake. I looked up some pictures on Google to help me figure out where to start and how I was going to bring this all together. I went to the store and gathered my materials.

Below are a list of things I purchased:
-Pampers Brand size 1 diapers (newborn was too small)
- Bibs
- Stuffed animal
- Ribbon
- Rubber bands
- Baby scrap book cut outs
- 16 in. Cake Circles
- Tulle

These are the 16 in cake circles I used to hold my diaper cake.

I rolled each diaper up individually and then put a rubber band around it.
I used small rubber bands that you put on hair.

An excellent pack of vibrant bibs to give the cake some color.

A view from the top. I wrapped the bibs around the
diapers to add in some color and personality. I was
going for an animal/jungle theme so I picked everything based on that.

I'm pleased with my end result especially since this is my first time.
I added in the scrap book cutouts to keep it from being so plain.

Since she was expecting a baby boy I selected the chocolate brown ribbon
with a small trim of blue. I had to keep it "boyish".

I placed it on the cardboard round and wrapped it up in tulle and put ribbon on it.
I traveled with it to NC and it was snug as a bug in a rug. =)

Here is the card I made to go with it.

My second chance to make another diaper cake would come a year or so later when I was expecting my second child. This time I got to make a girl themed diaper cake and I was super excited. I decided that I want my shower theme to be "Cute as a Button". I was going to take that theme and run with it and I did.

Below are a list of things I purchased:
- Pampers Brand size 1 diapers (newborn was too small)
- Buttons
- Ribbon
- Rubber bands
- Baby scrap book stickers
- Circle cardboard (I had some leftover from my previous purchase)
- Wooden Circle
- Yellow paint

I used the same formula/technique as I did with the fist diaper cake and I ended up with another winner. I'm all about a topper and this one was even better. I purchased a wooden round circle, my Babe used his circle saw and cut four holes in it for me. Made it look real button like, then he spray painted it yellow for me. I wedged it into the top row of my diapers and added an "It's a Girl" sticker to it.  I wrapped the different color polka dot ribbons to give it personality. Then I attached a different color button to the front of each layer. From there I attached some baby stickers to a wooden toothpick and stuck them into the diapers.
I used my Cricut machine to cut out my cute as a button letter.
I attached buttons on each end for a finishing touch.

Since it was a baby-shower I made little onesie to fit the theme.

The other onesie had a little baby girl on them announcing "It's a girl".

I love the way my cakes have turned out and I look forward to making more.

DIY Embellished Shoe

This is my inaugural post to my craft/do it yourself (DIY) blog. This evening I decided to embellish some little sneakers I got for my daughter. Since this was my first time I didn't want to "mess up" any of her good shoes. So I picked these up from Target for $13, they are cheap and cute so this was perfect.

For the past two weeks I've been picking up embellishments from Hobby Lobby & JoAnn Fabrics. I wasn't 100% on what look I was going for so I decided to go for it and see what happens.

The shoe was all white trimmed in pink so I had a general idea of what colors I should use.

I got these embellishments from Hobby Lobby
Cupcake embellishments
Industrial strength glue E6000
(You need proper ventilation when using this glue)

This is how the finished product looks.

I have so many ideas on things I want to do.  One of my girls gave me some embellished Chucks at my baby shower and I've been in love ever since. They were my inspiration to make these and a lot of other things to come.

Here are the original Chucks that gave me my inspiration.

There is a lot more to come!
